St George's Day Exhibition of Arms

An annual event for sabre nerds to meet, play, and learn! Formerly hosted at the Chateau South in Atlanta, Tx, now on our home ground of the Art and Cultural Academy of Farmers Branch, and taking over the nearby park at need. (Fencing outdoors is good for the soul!)

To purchase tickets for this year's event, visit our pricing page and select the St George's Day exclusive membership!

Class Descriptions:

"So you want to be a hussar." Fundamentals refresher on the Hidan/hussar lineage taught by Jacob. This class will help you patch any holes in your practice (particularly for those training solo), and help you conceptualize how the lineage works.

LeMarchant's Sabre Form. Larry will teach a form specifically from LeMarchant. LeMarchant was taught sabre by an (unnamed) Hungarian sergeant. His power generation method is identical to that of Ivanowsky an far superior for managing a heavy sabre than that of his near-contemporary Roworth. Very helpful for those who want to use a heavy sabre in a sided stance, and particularly for those who are long-distance students.

Crash Course in Timmlich: Jake will show the fundamental actions (and seriously dirty tricks) inherent to Timmlich's fencing method. You never thought a shoulder cut could be so fast and dangerous.

Fighting from High Tierce. David, who has taken the lead on High Tierce fencing on Youtube, will demonstrate just how amazingly simple High Tierce as a fencing concept is to put into action.

Arlow! Be Like This GigaChad! Kat, an avowed Arlow fan, will help you get fluid and tricky with the Godfather of Italo-Hungarian fencing. Bring your elbows!

Tournament of DEE-Fence! No spoilers on this one. Troy has something fun and helpful scheduled for you.

Frustrate Your Opponents with the Opposition Parry. The Hungarian opposition parry is different in concept from its French articulation. This class will walk you through the concept and how it is easily applied in Hungarian fencing regardless of lineage.
